Football Recap: Beaufort Academy Piles Up the Points Against Lee Academy

Beaufort Academy got themselves on the board against Lee Academy on Friday, but Lee Academy never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over the Cavaliers. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nych Underwood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Underwood is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 147 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Nic Shuford, who rushed for 40 yards and one score.

Beaufort Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jace Paulk and Underwood.

Beaufort Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Lee Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Beaufort Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dorchester Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Lee Academy, they will square off against Thomas Sumter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will be up against the Generals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
