Basketball Game Preview: Putnam County Panthers vs. Dwight Trojans

The Putnam County Panthers will face off against the Dwight Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Putnam County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Putnam County lost to St. Bede on the road by a 45-30 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Bruins are ranked 183rd).

Meanwhile, Dwight ended up a good deal behind Marquette on Monday and lost 55-38. The Trojans were down 44-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Dwight's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Putnam County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.

Putnam County suffered a grim 55-29 defeat to Dwight in their previous matchup on Wednesday. Can Putnam County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
