Softball Game Preview: South Rebels vs. Kenston Bombers

South is 9-1 against Kenston since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Bombers at 5:00 p.m. South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither South nor North made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rebels blew past the Rangers 15-2. The game was the first time the Rebels have beaten the Rangers on their field since May 6, 2019.

Kallie Kramp got the start for South and what a start it was: she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Halle Zupancic, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Makayla Schneider was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Kenston had just enough and edged out Wickliffe 7-5 on Saturday.

South's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Kenston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
