With a playoff win on the line, New Albany rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Louisville Wildcats a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Louisville from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Lilly Shannon led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The win (which was New Albany's eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those eight matchups. As for Louisville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

New Albany will challenge Amory on Tuesday. One thing working in Amory's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four contests. Louisville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
