Preview: Fulton Falcons vs. Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders
Fulton is 1-7 against Gatlinburg-Pittman since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Fulton Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Fulton was able to grind out a solid victory over Austin-East, taking the game 35-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fulton.
Meanwhile, Gatlinburg-Pittman stacked a 17th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Alcoa on the road to the tune of 58-30. Gatlinburg-Pittman is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 15 straight.
Gatlinburg-Pittman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maliyah Glasper, who scored 17 points along with six steals. Maddy Newman was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Fulton's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they pushed their record up to 23-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Fulton was taken down by Gatlinburg-Pittman 61-29 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Fulton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
