Basketball Recap: Alak Comes Up Short

After soaring to 74 points the game before, Alak was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 59-29 loss at the hands of the Nuiqsut Trapper Trappers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Trappers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 67-58 loss last Thursday.

Alak's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden Ahmaogak, who posted 13 points, and Paul Okpeaha, who put up eight points.

Alak has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. Nuiqsut Trapper is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Alak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nuiqsut Trapper, they have already played their next game, an 83-56 loss against Nunamiut on the 1st.
