Soccer Game Preview: North Fort Myers vs. Naples

North Fort Myers has won three straight games at home, while Naples has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The North Fort Myers Red Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Naples Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. North Fort Myers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 6.5 goals per game this season.

North Fort Myers' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Cape Coral as North Fort Myers made off with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Red Knights have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Cape Coral from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Hannah Busenbark led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Naples won against Aubrey Rogers last Monday with one goal and they decided to stick to that goal total again last Wednesday. Naples had just enough and edged Cape Coral out 1-0. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Seahawks are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Fort Myers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those eight matchups. As for Naples, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

North Fort Myers took their victory against Naples in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 4-1. Will North Fort Myers repeat their success, or does Naples have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
