Baseball Game Preview: Harvard Hornets vs. Zion-Benton Zee-Bees

The Harvard Hornets will head out to square off against the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Harvard is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Plano hit Harvard with a seven-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets fell just short of the Reapers by a score of 11-10.

Eltan Powles was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ryan Bennett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Zion-Benton's offense. They came up short against Libertyville on Tuesday, falling 16-0. The Zee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harvard's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Zion-Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Harvard couldn't quite finish off Zion-Benton when the teams last played back in March of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
