Baseball Recap: Episcopal Maroon vs. Landon Bears

Episcopal had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-13-1 to make it five. They came up short against the Landon Bears, falling 13-4. The Maroon were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Mac Halm was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Landon, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

On Landon's side, they got a great performance from Bo White as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. White has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ben Pollack was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Fred Malek was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Landon has already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Avalon on the 23rd. Hopefully Episcopal paid attention to the Bears' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
