Softball Game Preview: Streator Bulldogs vs. Manteno Panthers

For the second straight game, Streator will face off against Manteno. The Bulldogs will square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Streator has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Manteno will arrive with four straight wins.

Streator couldn't beat Manteno on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Bulldogs fell 12-7 to the Panthers.

Makenna Ondrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mya Zavada was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Madyson Wahl also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Streator's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Manteno, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
