Softball Recap: Chadwick Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Chadwick had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lennox Academy Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Dolphins not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 13-3).

Sammy Santa Ana made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Stanley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dami Ogundimu, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Chadwick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Chadwick's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Lennox Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Chadwick nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
