Basketball Game Preview: Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves vs. Midview Middies

The Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves and the Midview Middies will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Cuyahoga Heights will be strutting in after a win while Midview will be coming in after a defeat.

Cuyahoga Heights saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took down Northeast Ohio College Prep 47-30.

Meanwhile, Midview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Berea-Midpark an easy 94-68 victory. The Middies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 63-30.

Cuyahoga Heights will need focus on slowing down Luke Jockel, one of several Midview players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9 of 14 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Newton, who went 11 for 17 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Midview was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cuyahoga Heights' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Midview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
