Softball Recap: Gleason's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Gleason came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Greenfield Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Give the Bulldogs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Gleason let Brinley Lehmkuhl and Ava Bennett run wild. Lehmkuhl got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Bennett went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bennett has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addy Black, who earned two RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Gleason's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greenfield, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

As of now, neither Gleason nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
