Softball Game Preview: DeRidder Dragons vs. Converse Wildcats

The DeRidder Dragons are taking a road trip to take on the Converse Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DeRidder has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

DeRidder lost 11-1 to Iowa on Tuesday. The Dragons have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Converse). Everything went their way against Southwood on Monday as they made off with a 33-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won three in a row.

DeRidder's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-10. As for Converse, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

DeRidder couldn't quite finish off Converse when the teams last played back in April of 2022 and fell 10-8. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
