Baseball Recap: Sweet Home Victorious

Sweet Home got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They never let the Starpoint Spartans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since May 18, 2024.

The result came thanks to Aiden Mroz's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sweet Home is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Sweet Home saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Panepinto, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Sweet Home back to even at 3-3-1. As for Starpoint, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Sweet Home will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
