Basketball Game Preview: Effingham County Rebels vs. South Effingham Mustangs + How To Watch

Effingham County is on a three-game streak of home losses, and South Effingham a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Effingham County Rebels will be home for the holidays to greet the South Effingham Mustangs at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Effingham County came up short against Statesboro and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, South Effingham slipped by First Preparatory Christian Academy 65-64 on Saturday.

Effingham County better keep an eye on Michael Hall. He was instrumental in South Effingham's win, going 8-for-14 on his way to 20 points. Hall's big performance that morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Warren Roundtree was another key player, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and six rebounds.

South Effingham was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They are 4-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

South Effingham has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Effingham County, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Effingham County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against South Effingham in their previous matchup last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory.
