South Iredell had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but South Iredell were the better team in the second half.

Gino Communale and Daniel Schmitt scored both of South Iredell's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Iredell will head out to challenge Cox Mill at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jay M. Robinson, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Central Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
