Softball Recap: Tyler Legacy Takes a Loss

Tyler Legacy was the 1-0 winner over Longview when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Tyler Legacy Raiders fell just short of the Longview Lobos by a score of 9-8 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

ReNaa Hicks was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Vivan Williams, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Tyler Legacy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. Longview's win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Tyler Legacy will host Rockwall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Longview, they are taking a road trip to take on Rockwall-Heath at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwall-Heath has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.47 runs per game on average), something Longview will no doubt try to take advantage of.
