Swansea barely beat Silver Bluff the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Swansea's pitcher stepped up to hand Silver Bluff a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kendall Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Hair, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Porter, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Swansea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Bluff only posted an OBP of .222.

Swansea's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Silver Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swansea will venture away from home to challenge Fox Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silver Bluff, they will head out to take on Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Silver Bluff is facing Lakeside at the right time seeing as Lakeside is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
