Football Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lakeside fought the good fight in their overtime game against Statesboro on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The defeat leaves the Panthers still looking for their first win of the season.

Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Matthew White, who picked up 134 receiving yards and three scores. White showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 51 yards.

Keon Childers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry for Statesboro. Another player making a difference was Davis Harrison, who rushed for 39 yards and one TD.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Statesboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
