Vineland had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Cumberland Colts. That's more bragging rights for the Fighting Clan, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Etheridge, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Carlos Santaigo was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Vineland will face off against Pitman at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland, they will be playing at home against Cumberland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
