The Burlingame Panthers will challenge the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Burlingame turned things around against Woodside on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burlingame took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-10, 25-14.

Burlingame's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Hakes, who had five digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Hakes is now averaging an impressive 13.3 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Addie Uhrich, who had five aces and three digs.
They weren't the only good server: Burlingame was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tamalpais made easy work of San Marin on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Red Tailed Hawks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
One reason for the win was Tamalpais' just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-14.
Burlingame's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Tamalpais, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
