Football Game Preview: Union City Soaring Eagles vs. Montclair Mounties + How To Watch

The Union City Soaring Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Montclair Mounties at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither Union City nor Montclair posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Friday, Union City ended up a good deal behind Northern Highlands and lost 24-8.

Despite the defeat, Union City had strong showings from Mario Medina, who rushed for 95 yards on only eight carries, and Naythan Pena, who rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Montclair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Ramapo 47-0. While losing is never fun, the Mounties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Raiders are ranked 16th).

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Montclair, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Union City against Montclair in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Soaring Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
