Softball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Twin Rivers Royals

Dexter is 1-6 against Twin Rivers since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Dexter will square off against Twin Rivers at 4:30 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Dexter's offense. They lost 18-0 to Doniphan on Friday.

Meanwhile, Twin Rivers had just enough and edged out Oran 6-5 on Friday.

Alexis Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reagan Bader, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Addysen Whitlow also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Twin Rivers, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Dexter suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Twin Rivers in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Dexter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
