Baseball Game Preview: Fulton Red Raiders vs. Auburn Maroons

For the second straight game, Fulton will face off against Auburn. The Red Raiders will welcome the Maroons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fulton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Auburn on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Maroons by a score of 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Auburn's part, Myles McBride made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. With that strong performance, McBride is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season.

McBride wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Adams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Adams has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Thomas (TJ) Pisciotti, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Auburn, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.
