Volleyball Recap: Columbus Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Franklin Heights

There's no place like home for Columbus Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Franklin Heights Falcons with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

While Columbus Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Heights saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carli Wallace had 12 assists and 11 digs.

The win got Columbus Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Franklin Heights, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Columbus Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Columbus School for Girls on the 20th. As for Franklin Heights, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Grandview Heights on the 21st.
