Baseball Game Preview: Stryker Panthers vs. Hilltop Cadets

Stryker hasn't had much luck against Hilltop recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Cadets at 5:00 p.m.

Stryker is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They fell 5-2 to North Adams-Jerome.

Stryker saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilltop). Everything went their way against Emmanuel Christian on Monday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. With that win, the Cadets brought their scoring average up to 8.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Shimp, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brennan Dempsey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hilltop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Hilltop back to even at 2-2. As for Stryker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Stryker suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Hilltop in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
