Baseball Recap: North Smithfield Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

North Smithfield's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Sunday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Hope Blue Wave. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Northmen as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Tyler Albino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Pullen was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Dylan Nickerson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

North Smithfield's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Hope, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

As of now, neither North Smithfield nor the Blue Wave have any future games scheduled.
