Basketball Recap: Camelback Takes a Loss

Camelback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Gila Ridge Hawks 57-15.

When it comes to explaining why Camelback lost, don't look at Deja Francisco. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Camelback's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Gila Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Hernandez, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and eight steals. Those 16 points gave Hernandez a new career-high. Reagan Monroe was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and five steals.

Camelback's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Gila Ridge, their record is now 6-12.

Camelback will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Browne at 6:00 p.m. As for Gila Ridge, they will challenge San Luis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gila Ridge is facing San Luis at the right time seeing as San Luis is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
