Soccer Game Preview: Merritt Island vs. Rockledge

The Merritt Island Mustangs will take on the Rockledge Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Merritt Island came up short against Cocoa Beach and fell 4-2.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Rockledge had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand Palm Bay an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday. Give the Raiders' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Palm Bay from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alyssa Pollard led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

The victory got Rockledge back to even at 7-7-3. As for Merritt Island, they now have a losing record at 4-5-3.
