Basketball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lovelady Lions. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Centerville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amarius Phillips posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lovelady, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Centerville will venture away from home to face off against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lovelady, they will welcome Corrigan-Camden at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
