Basketball Recap: Mackenzie Holliday's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tift County over Colquitt County

Tift County lost against Colquitt County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tift County Blue Devils took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colquitt County Packers.

Tift County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mackenzie Holliday, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiya Jordan, who had 15 points.

Leading Colquitt County to victory were Nacardia Robinson and Amira Walters- Smith. Robinson dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Walters- Smith earned 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Amareyia Knighton was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Tift County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Colquitt County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.

Tift County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colquitt County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-45 win against Camden County on the 12th.
