Softball Game Preview: Chilhowie Warriors vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

The Chilhowie Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Grayson County Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chilhowie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Chilhowie let Greeneville stack five runs on them in the third inning on Saturday but luckily Chilhowie prevailed anyway. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Greene Devils 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

The team relied heavily on Lexi Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chilhowie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeneville only managed six.

Meanwhile, Grayson County got the win against Holston on Monday by a conclusive 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Chilhowie now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Grayson County, their record is now 4-1.

Chilhowie couldn't quite get it done against Grayson County when the teams last played last Monday as they fell 8-5. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
