Soccer Game Preview: Mendenhall vs. Forest

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mendenhall take on the Forest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday... Forest took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mendenhall, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Mendenhall turned things around against Puckett on Friday. They skirted past Wolves 2-1.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Forest's offense. They came up short against Northeast Jones on Friday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).

Forest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Mendenhall, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Mendenhall might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Forest when the teams last played back in January. Can Mendenhall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
