Softball Recap: Huntsville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Brenham

There's no place like home for Huntsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Brenham Cubs 7-6 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jaylee Fuller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chloe Sanders was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazira Enriquez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Huntsville moved to 10-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Brenham, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Huntsville and Brenham could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Huntsville (ranked 297th) will meet Montgomery (ranked 114th) at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. Meanwhile, Brenham will take on A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th down 135 places (221 vs. 86).
