Softball Game Preview: Mahtomedi Zephyrs vs. Denfeld Hunters

The Mahtomedi Zephyrs will head out on the road to square off against the Denfeld Hunters at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mahtomedi came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Hastings, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Zephyrs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Denfeld was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-3 to Proctor.

Coco Flaig made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Bridgette Vegar also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Mahtomedi has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Denfeld, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
