Jay County has gone a perfect 9-0 against Southern Wells recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will face off against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Jay County put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against Muncie Central as they made off with a 23-4 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Kade Sommers looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for Jay County: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 5-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Schemenaur, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Wyatt Foster also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Jay County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Southern Wells couldn't beat Daleville on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Raiders fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 11-10. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trey Slusher was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Robby Freimuth was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Jay County's record now sits at 7-10. As for Southern Wells, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Jay County skirted past Southern Wells 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
