Basketball Recap: American International Academy Takes a Loss

On Sunday, American International Academy ended up a good deal behind the Berkley Bears and lost 50-34. American International Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evan Young had a dynamite game for Berkley, going 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Young is becoming a predictor of Berkley's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Sermo, who posted nine points.

American International Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Berkley, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

American International Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025. As for Berkley, they will square off against Stoney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stoney Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Berkley likes a good challenge.
