Baseball Game Preview: Jensen Beach Falcons vs. John Carroll Catholic Rams

Jensen Beach and John Carroll Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Falcons will welcome the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jensen Beach will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Jensen Beach turned things around against Treasure Coast on Thursday. They blew past the Titans 7-1. The Falcons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th.

John Gillen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jensen Beach is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Graham Garner was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Preston Honea, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, John Carroll Catholic entered their tilt with Benjamin on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Buccaneers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

John Carroll Catholic's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Preston Sullivan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Grady Messner was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Jensen Beach's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for John Carroll Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Jensen Beach came out on top in a nail-biter against John Carroll Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
