Volleyball Preview: Franklin County Wildcats vs. Batesville Bulldogs

On Thursday Franklin County will have to hit the road after three straight games at home. After both having extra time off, they and the Batesville Bulldogs will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m.

Franklin County lost 3-0 to South Dearborn on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

While Franklin County was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Batesville came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1.

Batesville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.

Anya Richey had an outrageously good game as she had 23 digs.

Batesville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive games.
