Softball Recap: Life Waxahachie Comes Up Short

Life Waxahachie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-8 to the Hillsboro Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in March.

Nevaeh Esparza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs. Raini Ketchum also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Life Waxahachie's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Hillsboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Coming up, Life Waxahachie will take on Godley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hillsboro, they will be playing at home against Venus at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
