Basketball Game Preview: Kern Valley Broncs vs. California City Ravens

The Kern Valley Broncs will take on the California City Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Kern Valley came up short against Rosamond and fell 52-40. The loss continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Roadrunners: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kern Valley might have lost, but man, Aiden Madden was a machine: he posted 26 points. Madden has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zane Carver, who put up six points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, California City's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bishop Union by a score of 50-47.

Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for California City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Kern Valley came up short against California City in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 54-41. Can Kern Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
