Softball Recap: Greenwood Extends Winning Streak to Three

Greenwood had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Fort Stockton Panthers. For the Rangers, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Addison Arredondo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Arredondo was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Greenwood let Brylee Savage and Mae Savage run wild. Brylee went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Mae scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Those four RBI gave Brylee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Berkley Jenkins, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Greenwood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Stockton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.
