Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is San Marcos' 12th in Last 13 Outings

If Canyon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played San Marcos, they should've done a better job of containing Melayna Perkins. The San Marcos Rattlers put the hurt on the Canyon Cougars with a sharp 54-28 victory on Friday thanks in part to Perkins, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

San Marcos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-14.

Coincidentally, San Marcos and Canyon will both be playing Johnson the next time they take the court. San Marcos will head out to face Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Canyon will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
