Baseball Recap: Warren Central Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Warren Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Anderson Indians 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 23rd.

Keith Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Warren Central is undefeated when Jackson posts two or more runs, but 1-16-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Dylan Thompson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Xavier Ott was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Warren Central's record now sits at 6-16-1. As for Anderson, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-14.

Warren Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Anderson, they will welcome Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
