Marionville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Sarcoxie, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Comets blew past the Bears 19-8 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Annaliyah Ghan was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maggie Murphy, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marionville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The win got Marionville back to even at 11-11. As for Sarcoxie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
