Basketball Game Preview: Cheney Cardinals vs. Dodge City Demons

The Cheney Cardinals will face off against the Dodge City Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dodge City took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cheney, who comes in off a win.

Cheney is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Nickerson 71-5. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Panthers are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dodge City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Garden Plain.

Cheney pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Dodge City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
