Soccer Game Preview: Cape Henry Collegiate vs. Summit Christian Academy

The Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins will face off against the Summit Christian Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cape Henry Collegiate's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Peninsula Catholic. Given Cape Henry Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Peninsula Catholic are ranked 261st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Claire Davis and Lauren Doron scored both of Cape Henry Collegiate's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Christian Academy). They blew past Denbigh Baptist Christian 12-1 on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy have beaten Denbigh Baptist Christian the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Denbigh Baptist Christian has come to flipping the script.

Cape Henry Collegiate has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-2 record this season. As for Summit Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-2.

Everything went Cape Henry Collegiate's way against Summit Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Cape Henry Collegiate made off with a 4-0 victory.
