Alden-Conger scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Martin County West as Alden-Conger made off with a 75-51 win. That looming 75-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Alden-Conger yet this season.
Meanwhile, Mabel-Canton fought the good fight in their overtime match against Wabasha-Kellogg on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 66-64.
Mabel-Canton's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cayden Tollefsrud, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Tollefsrud scored a full 51.6% of Mabel-Canton's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Larson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Alden-Conger's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Mabel-Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Alden-Conger came up short against Mabel-Canton in their previous matchup back in January, falling 78-65.
