Basketball Recap: Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders vs. St. Raymond Boys Ravens
Monsignor Scanlan and St. Raymond Boys squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Monsignor Scanlan had to settle for second. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Raymond Boys Ravens. Leading St. Raymond Boys to victory were Tai Turnage and Brandon Stores, Jr.. Turnage went 7-for-13 en route to 24 points, while Stores, Jr. posted 21 points and five rebounds. Stores, Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Luis Carillo-Moss was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.
Monsignor Scanlan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for St. Raymond Boys, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-11.
